This is my first attempt at 3D. I am happy with the way it turned out for my first carve. Total time was about 3.5 hours on EaselPro. I am as proud of this as the day I earned these wings (later in my career than most). A bit of sanding and some finish.

Just finished the carve on this heart for my wife. Made with 3/8” walnut, stained with natural wood stain, and I will finish with an acrylic lacquer.

Just finished the 3D Navy insignia with the 3036 with the upgraded 500 watt spindle.

Just finished this, still have some hand finishing to do. It was finished with the 3036 Pro and the upgraded 500 watt spindle. Wish I would have upgraded the spindle earlier, runs much quieter, seems more stable and definitely more powerful. Very satisfied!!

Hand painted this birth announcement then carved on the 3036.
These are 0.090” thick. 6.5” diameter.
I used a 30° bit at 0.004 depth. I love it!

A little father/son time in the shop.
Showing him how to design in easel, and carve with the Mandrill 3036.
I have to say I am a little jealous of his creativity.
Update It is all colored and complete!

Rescued a couple of small cutting/serving boards from our local 2nd hand shop. Hubby sanded them down and then we carved them earlier today. Defo not perfect but considering we’re very much still learning I think they turned out ok. Finished them with some cutting board wax.
Andrew B.
Really loving my 3036 with the 40w laser. Expanding to making keyrings, medal and cake toppers now
