Decided I would try my luck with carving my own makers stamp out brass. Used my 3018 pro upgraded to a 3036 with the 500 watt motor. I used a 20 degree V bit and slowed my speed way down and kept oil on the bit. Came out pretty good for a first time carving brass.

Thought I'd share this new product on my store - it's a compact dungeon master screen (for tabletop RPGS) with built in dice tower. It folds up to a nice size to fit in a bag. I use both the Mandrill (to cut the slots for the metal brackets) and the 6550 40 watt for the laser engraved images. I have 6 different designs. Absolutely love my Yorahome stuff!

A huge shoutout to Jim R. for sending me the parts to get my 3036 running again. Thanks for all the support from everyone at Yora!

Just finished this carve using eastern red cedar. The finish carve on this one was approximately 26 hours because of the detail I wanted to achieve. I’ve learned not to get in a hurry if you want a quality carving, the wait was worth it. Carved with a 3018 pro upgraded to a 3036 and upgraded to the 500 watt spindle. Everything worked perfect.

A little father/son time in the shop.
Showing him how to design in easel, and carve with the Mandrill 3036.
I have to say I am a little jealous of his creativity.
Update It is all colored and complete!

Just finished putting my spoil board on my Mandrill 3036. Measured each section and cut 1/4 inch MDF to the measurements and put on with two sided carpet tape.

My first successful creation on my Yorahome 3036 Madrill. At least it looks so much better than my first few attempts. The words at the top and below i engraved with my 50w laser.

Here's a couple boxes I made on my 3036. Used Vcarve and STL files to make gcode and imported to easel for carving. Lumber is just treated pine and finished with lacquer.
