A photo of my niece’s home. Yorahome 3018 Pro with bed extension and 15w laser. Maximized contrast and converted to grayscale in Gimp 2.0. Exported pic as a .png file and brought into LaserGRBL. Fine tuned contrast and white clip, then ran multiple horizontal and vertical passes on 14” X11” of 3/4” thick aspen.
Like cooking a rack of ribs, go low and slow.

My latest project with YoraHome 3036 40w laser on leather. This is a leather A5 journal cover, engraved, then cut out, dyed the leather with a British Tan dye, glued and stitched and then a black dye on all the edges. Took sometime to do the stitching and a few mistakes here and there but quite happy with the results.

I copied an idea from someone's earlier Yorahome post and created this one on a live edge piece of cedar. Next I'll assemble a small box and place it on the back so that an arrangement of flowers (pots) can supplement the signage. Birthday gift for my wife.

This is the final product I was working with the 3d relief carve on. I think they're called valet trays. He didn't really get a good angle on the finished piece so I included my last test run to give a little better view. The wood is cherry and the finished piece is using mohawk cherry stain with a light coating of tung oil. I'd used colonial maple on the test. They were both finished with an oprbital sander a very fine grit, low RPM dremel sanding cone and then low RPM dremel buffing bit to bring out some more highlights.
Carveco did great on this, but I also downloaded Fusion 360 free and an image->relief add-on so I'm practicing with that now.
Made my first $100! (I did like 12 ten hour practice and tweeking runs, not to mention the 15 or so hours learning the process, but next time it'll be quicker!)

Blue painters masking tape then left on and painted with acrylic paint then removed when almost dry going to need a little touch up here and there as the yellow paint shows the burn lines just needs building up a bit but otherwise pleased

Used Easel, rough cut (3.2mm ball nose flute bit) detail cut (1.8 mm bit), total cutting time was 2.5 hours using the yorahome recommend feed, rpm settings.

I found this 3D skull, 3" by 5" on the Inventables project page. It was amazing watching it carve. I had to significantly slow down all the cut settings. This is an absolute must for these 3018 machines. It took approximately 4-1/2 hours using a 60 degree v bit. Love it. My inspiration for the paint is from the James Bond movie Spectre. I framed it with some scrap pine, stain is Early American.

I started this 2 weeks ago but work got in the way. Its my first layered piece with all the family names on my Mum's side. (bit of a gaff on the top right corner. Did not check my clamps and in the time it was sat there it loosened up and moved when I started her up again. Lesson learned) Going to use resin on the bottom layer flush with the ANDERTON after that I will decide whether i will paint the Anderton black or not. the rest will be left bamboo. Mum has been checking out my colours and likes the orange and candy apple green. So her name will be in one of those and the background in the other. (she's my mum and likes my experiments)
