Pretty proud of how this photo turned out. First photo I have done on my Silverback.
Thanks Angie!!!!

Well I ended up taking apart my Silverback and putting it back together. My leadscrew looked turned like it was bent but I dont think it really is. Once I put everything back together it seemed like my problem was the rollers. I had them too tight. Once I loosened them everything seemed to work fine. This flag was the first project I have done and it seems to be working great! Im back at it

My grandfather made my grandmother a bookcase from a tree felled on his farm over 75 years ago. It was passed down through the family but unfortunately, it was recently ruined in a flood. I was able to salvage some of the wood and make this jewelry box for my daughter. I used only my CrossRiver for all of the carving and milling. I used my 6550 to engrave the story of the wood inside the lid. In part is says, “A damaged and discarded scrap of wood, reshaped and sanded, finds new life and meaning. You can’t change the wood’s past, but you can shape its future and purpose. Please remember that metaphor for life as well as all who cherished this wood in its other lives.”

When I decided to buy a Yorahome Silverback 6060 my goal was to be able to CNC projects like this. It took me many tries and a whole lot of learning to figure this thing out but I have finally finished this piece. Now I plan on making a bigger one but for now I am extremely happy with how this turned out. I have to think guys like Daryl Dinkel who have really helped me out when I was ready to bang my head off the wall. I have come to really enjoy doing CNC work and this page and the people on here have been really inspirational and helpful. So thanks for helping me out

I made this sign up for a friend of mine and we fish for salmon off the coast of British Columbia. Made from local Maple with lettering filled with black epoxy. Measures approximately 22" across. It's my first project using my new CrossRiver machine.— feeling blessed at Vancouver Island Parkville.

I've been commissioned by customers to create a custom cribbage board in the shape of Vancouver Island, tailored for four players rather than the usual three. The first piece sold within 48 hours. I think I'm going to enjoy this!

My first ever attempt at using a bowl and tray bit or vbit was today, over the moon with the results. I was very conservative on feeds and speeds so I know I can cut time down a bit but I'm so impressed by my silverback and what can be achieved with it but still wish the cross river was available in the uk (nudge nudge )

The last supper was epic; I'm amazed by the incredible detail. I used a 1/2 down cut end mill, then a 1/32 ball nose taper. It took about 6 hours of carve time; I went slow. This was a practice run to see what detail the Silverback 6060 can do. Mind blown!

A few steps along the way. And plenty of mistakes and revisions. The picture doesn't do the text justice. I didn't pick the text.

Many different techniques here. CNC used was Yorahome Silverback, laser engraved the artwork, the epoxy filled the accents. I don't think epoxy counts as inlay, but thought I would share. This 2'x2' piece led to a 4'x4' sign sold for $1600 (last 2 pics). Both pieces paid for my Silverback and upgrades.

I made my first attempt at multi-coloured resin pouring on a cutting board that I made today.
It consists of cutting the black shape of the eagle to a depth of about 1/8" deep, pouring the black and allowing it to cure for about a day, then cutting the white portion (same depth), pouring the white and curing finally cutting the yellow/gold, pour and cure. After this, I cut the final shape of the cutting board.
The board is sanded, soaked in a food-safe mineral oil and finally finished with bee's wax and polished.
It measures 22"x 10"x 1". Made from a local Maple wood tree.
Hope you like it.

I recently purchased the new SilverBack Air Assist. Boy, what a difference that has made to my clean burns and the ability to cut through. This is a trivet for placing hot items on the table/countertop. Made of four layers and about 5/8" thick. 7"x7" in diameter.

I recently completed a project using Black Walnut for the first time. The project involved cutting a large board that measures 18"x16" and is 1 1/4" thick. What's amazing to me is that I personally selected this piece of wood last year when it was still a tree in the ground. The piece has live edge on two sides.
Thanks to Larry Noble for the inspiration to use the green Resin.

Finished this one up today !!! I like the way it came out, nice detail !! # Silverback

The Dusty Woodworker .
Carved these crescent moon catchalls & nesting round catchall on the Silverback 6060. I used a 1/4" downcut bit on the moon tray, 1/2" bowl bit on the round trays. Crescent moon File was purchased from etsy. Used the 6550 pro to laser the moon sequences graphic in the pocket of the round catchall. I adjusted the step over to 20% and had very little sanding. These machines have such huge capability. Best investment I ever made!

This is a recent project of mine using my Silverback and 80w laser.
It consists of four layers of 3/16" Maple plywood two of which were stained darker brown than the natural Maple of the other two. And then glued together. It makes a nice trivet. You can see the different levels and detail in the close up image.

Just completed a large router-cut Pirate Ship clock for my garage on my Silverback. It's made entirely with scraps of Mahogany glued together that I found around my workshop.

Wanted to post these hardwood catchalls, created on my Silverback 6060. I am a Woodworker first, so stage 1 was cutting the hardwood strips to size, glue ups, then machining and finishing. This machine is an awesome investment. Can't say enough about the incredible support the company & this group has to offer. I'm easing into semi-retirement for health reasons (kicking & screaming lol) but was honoured to win a Platinum award in Carpentry & Woodworking as voted by our local community. Thank you YoraHome!
