So, you want to take your laser engraving to another level - or maybe your small business is growing, and you want to get faster production and more power?
The best way to do that is with one of our top selling YoraHome 60W CO2 Laser Engraver Packages!
This versatile machine can not only perform laser engraving at a much faster rate than a diode laser can; it can also provide clean cuts through many materials - up to 1/2 inch (13 mm) in common woods.
The YoraHome team worked with the manufacturers to ensure that this machine had all the features that make this a vast improvement over previous offerings - features that not only the team wanted to see, but based on user feedback as well.
This article will highlight some of the key features of the YoraHome 60W CO2 Laser Engraver- so let's take a look at the machine!
The RUIDA controller is an industry standard - found in nearly all major CO2 laser engravers. It provides an easy to use interface, and is fully compatible with LightBurn software - no need to learn a complicated CAD/CAM software, or try and work with translated software that you can't read.
As an added bonus, every YoraHome 60W CO2 Laser comes with a FREE LightBurn DSP License Key!
The RUIDA controller can be easily updated as firmware improvements are released - which can open up future options for your machine (we're watching these as well, so we can continue development of new items).
Coupled with the RUIDA controller is a full-feature control panel, which allows you to review settings, start/stop projects, and monitor progress.
One of the most convenient features is an included Wi-Fi adapter; no more sitting right next to the machine with your laptop!
With a short configuration process, you can connect your YoraHome 60W CO2 Laser to your home/workshop network - and you can access your machine wirelessly.
We are using this on our showroom machine, and it makes life a lot easier - no cables running to the machine, and you don't have to have your computer right at the machine (we do still recommend being near your machine at all times while in operation).
Large, easily accessible Emergency Stop button - no looking for a "Stop" function in software, or trying to find a power switch somewhere on the machine.
The emergency Stop is located right on top of the machine, and latches in the Safe position.
There is also a safety switch on the main lid - this prohibits laser operation when the lid is open, to prevent personnel injury from the invisible laser beam.
Finally, there is a cooling safety circuit; this prohibits laser operation if the cooling system is not in operation - prevent laser damage due to improper cooling flow.
Gone are the days of using a bucket of water to keep your laser cool!
This package includes a CW-5000 Chiller unit, which is an entirely self-contained unit that uses a refrigerator-like cooling loop to keep your laser tube safely cooled.
This will ensure proper cooling, and longer life of the laser tube.
The previously noted cooling safety circuit is built in to the chiller unit, just a simple plug-in connection to the main laser.
The complete cooling loop requires less than 3 gallons of distilled water, considerably less than the older "bucket" system.
Speaking of the laser tube; this machine uses a Yongli 60W Premium Laser Tube; which also has an integrated red-dot indicator.
This feature is a major game-changer - since CO2 lasers operate at a wavelength which makes them invisible to the naked eye, this will allow you to precisely position your project on the workpiece. (Hint - also makes mirror alignment a lot easier!)
The red-dot pointer is active only when you need it; simply be pressing the button on the side of the machine.
Rather than using traditional stepper motors, YoraHome has decided to go with hybrid servo motors. The servo motors are capable of high torque and high speeds, while running at efficiency levels 80-90% better than a standard stepper motor.
These servo motors are installed on the X and Y axes, and are controlled by design-specific drivers for increased speed and precision.
This feature will provide you with feed rates that would be impossible to match with a diode laser - CO2 machines operate at mm/sec - not per minute.
To give an idea of the capabilities, our showroom machine has been cutting through 3mm plywood at a feed rate of 8 mm/sec!
Remember trying to position your workpiece on the 6550 - either turning the knob to adjust the Z Axis height, or having to prop your workpiece up to get the laser focus right? Not with this machine!
Heavy duty stepper motors are installed to raise and lower the work bed at the touch of a button - allowing for a workpiece height of 11 inches - no longer limited to just thin items.
As an added bonus to the motorized bed, the machine also includes a touch-probe for automatic focal height adjustment.
Simply ensure that your workpiece is under the laser nozzle, and click the "Focus" button in LightBurn - the workbed will automatically raise the workpiece to the correct height, so you can start burning with no delay.
Bright-white LED lighting around the perimeter of the work area - making it easy to position your workpiece. No more peering under a dark lid, trying to make sure you have your workpiece in the right spot.
If you were like me when I first started looking at this feature, you're probably wondering "what do I need this for?". But over time, it turned out to be quite a versatile option.
For large engraving projects, or if you need just a little more height for a tall project, using the knife edge supports will fit the bill.
For cutting of small items, or to help contain your cutouts more stably, using the traditional honeycomb workbed will help retain all those little bits that would otherwise fall through the knife edge slats.
To assist with project positioning, there are also rulers around the edge of the work area - helps with getting things in the same spot every time.
Along with the dual work beds, this machine also has pass-through doors, which will allow for extra-long items. Trying to engrave that 6 foot tall wall hanging sign?
Not a problem! Simply open the pass-through panels, properly support the workpiece, and engrave!
The pass-through will allow for items up to approximately 1 inch thick - and the full 60cm width of the work area.
Many other machines on the market simply allow any small cut pieces to drop into the bottom of the machine - these bits can get caught in the Z Axis mechanism, and simply makes a mess inside the machine.
Rather than deal with that mess; we've included a catch tray to collect all those small bits - easier clean up for those intricate cut out jobs.
