At YoraHome, we take pride in providing our customers with the best tools and resources to bring their creative visions to life.

We've received countless recommendations from many of our customers about Vectric, so we've decided to partner with this company which is trusted by many users from large professional shops to home-built hobbyists.

Who is Vectric?

Vectric is a company that develops and supports a range of high quality software for CNC routing, milling and engraving. Vectric software like Vcarve Desktop or VCarve Pro are designed to make cutting parts on a CNC an enjoyable and productive experience.

What is the difference between VCarve Desktop Pro and VCarve Pro?

VCarve Desktop provides a powerful but intuitive software solution for creating and cutting parts on a CNC Router. VCarve Desktop gives you the power to produce complex 2D patterns with profile, pocket, drill and inlay toolpaths, plus gives you the ability to create designs with v-carving textures as well as import and machine unlimited Vectric 3D clipart or single model files. The ‘Desktop’ edition is designed for small CNC machines up to 24"x24" working areas like our 3018-Pro, Mandrill, and SilverBack 6060 CNC routers, aimed at hobby or non-production environments.

VCarve Pro, the ‘Pro’ edition gives you unlimited job and toolpath size, true shape nesting & job set-up sheets, ideally suited to a production environment. This version will be needed for our SilverBack 1x1m CNC.

What are their main features?

VCarve Desktop or VCarve Pro gives you access to all the following features:

  • 2D Import & Editing: Can import 2D designs from other programs but also provides a full set of drawing and editing tools.
  • 2D & 2.5D Toolpath Options: The toolpath options cover all typical 2D routing operations such as Profiling, Pocketing, Auto-Inlays, Drilling and Thread Milling as well as 2.5D strategies.
  • 3D Rough & Finish: For 3D, you can Rough and Finish the model and there are options to project 2D and 2.5D toolpaths onto the 3D surface.
  • Customize & Control: Each toolpath includes appropriate options to customize the settings and provide a high level of control for different types of operation.
  • 3D Model Import: It includes the ability to import multiple Vectric 3D models as well as a single 3rd party model, where they can be assembled to suit your design.
  • Instant Preview Updates: All toolpaths can be previewed to show just how the part will look when it is actually cut, this allows instant feedback to allow toolpaths to be further optimized.

Do I need a constant internet connection?

Vectric software will need to be connected to the internet when you activate your subscription to allow for communication between your software and their licensing server. The software can then run happily without an active internet connection.
